Born in Saitama, Japan, in 2008, Yuasa Ami is one of Japan's top breaking athletes. Her older sister introduced her to hip-hop music when she was six, and eventually grew to love breaking. She chose her given name Ami as her B-Girl name.

Ami is known for her footwork and flow. In addition to getting to be herself, and express her feelings through her sport using her wide array of power moves and cleanly executed tricks, breaking has also transformed her as a person, as she went from being a nervous shy girl to a confident athlete.
