U.S. freestyle skier Alex Hall delivered on his early promise as a teenager to win Olympic slopestyle gold at Beijing 2022.
Hall was born in Alaska but raised in the Swiss city of Zurich before returning to the United States aged 16.
Two years later, Hall had his first taste of international success by clinching slopestyle silver at the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Hall made his senior Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018 where he finished in a creditable 16th place in slopestyle. Weeks later, he secured his first World Cup win in the Silvaplana slopestyle in Switzerland.
He achieved success in both Big Air and slopestyle on the World Cup circuit in the next four-year Olympic cycle and took slopestyle bronze at the 2021 World Championships in Aspen, Colorado. Shortly before Beijing, Hall claimed his fifth World Cup win in the Mammoth slopestyle.
