Biography

Albert, father of Rudi Sigl, participated with limited success at the 1952 Helsinki and the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, when both father and son competed together. Albert’s best result was the finishing 11th in the small bore rifle event, three positions at Melbourne. Albert Sigl had a long career, and competed on the German national team from 1939. At the 1939 World Championships he won two team silvers (free rifle kneeling and standing) and a team bronze (free rifle prone). He added another team bronze at the 1950 World Championships in the free rifle prone event. He worked as an industrial clerk at the Karlsruhe Industrial Works.
