Adam Kowalski was Polish Champion in 1937, 1946 and 1949 with the team of Wisla Krakau. In 53 international matches for Poland, he received 22 scorer points and took part in four World Championships (1935, 1937-1939). He was also an excellent basketball, handball and water polo player becoming Polish Champion in handball in 1933. Later, he was a professional sports instructor and after his active career was also an official and referee. In the Second World War he was interned as a German prisoner of war in the officers' camp II C in Woldenberg. In 1944 he took part in the POW-Olympics. He was not related to his teammate Aleksander Kowalski.
