At the 1912 Olympic trials, Marc Wright, a left-handed vaulter from Dartmouth, set a world record of 13-2¼ (4.02) to become the first 4-meter vaulter in history. He was well below his best in Stockholm and tied for second place at 12-7½ (3.85). Surprisingly Wright, although he was a world record holder, never featured prominently at the IC4A championships, finishing equal fourth in 1912 and tied for second in 1913.
Personal Best: PV – 13-2¼ (4.015) (1912).
