Biografie

Marc Bouissou rowed in the coxless fours at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Bouissou started rowing with Nautical Society Marne but later represented US Métro. He served in the French Military in 1950-51, and in 1951-53 won the French title in the fours. In 1954 he was bronze medalist at the European Championships.

Bouissou earned his baccalaureate degree in 1954. He married Adrianna Amaury in 1955 and eventually took over her family’s business, a dyeing company. He and his brother later started a company specializing in the transport of construction machinery, Transport Bouissou & Frère. Marc Bouissou later started a warehouse company near Paris, which he turned over to his nephew, Xavier Bouissou.

Marc and Adrianna had three girls. Ariane was a well-known journalist with Europe 1 and France Info. Caroline was a hotelier and business manager and producer of films, while Isabelle was an artist who managed and owned the Domaine de Quintalone in the Midi-Pyrenees. After retiring from business Marc Bouissou coached the Société Nautique de la Basse Seine in Courbevoie. In 2007, recognizing his athletic and business achievements, he was knighted with the National Order of Merit.
