Biografie

Flatwater canoeist Hermann Glaser participated in the Canadian doubles 1,000 metres at the 1972 München Olympics partnering Peter Hoffmann, but they finished an unfortunate fourth. Four years later Glaser partnered Heinz Lucke both in the 500 and the 1,000 metres events and they finished ninth and eighth, respectively. Glaser won five West German titles in the C-2 1,000 in 1970, 1972, and from 1981-83. He also claimed a C-1 500 title in 1973, and with different partners in the C-2 500 metres in 1970, 1972 and from 1979-84, and in 1970, 1972, and from 1981-83 in the 1,000 metres event, and in 1972, 1977-78, 1982-83, and 1985 in the 10,000 metres event. In 1973-74, 1976 and 1979, Glaser also won the C-1 10,000 national titles.
