Biografie

Cipriano Chemello was primarily a track sprinter as an amateur who rode both the individual and team pursuit at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the team pursuit. As an amateur rider, Chemello won two world titles in team pursuit, in 1966 and 1968, and was twice second at the Worlds in that event, in 1965 and 1967.

Chimello turned professional shortly thereafter, and moved to the roads, riding first with Salvarani, but then moving to Cosatto in 1971, and then was with GBC Sony in 1972 and Supermercato Calzature in 1973, after which he ended his pro career. As a sprinter, he had a few stage wins, notably two at the 1969 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (Tour of Catalonia), and one at the 1970 Paris-Nice stage race, but otherwise he never did much professionally.
