Biografie

Carl Johan Lind participated from 1912 to 1928 in four Olympic Games, most successfully at Antwerpen in 1920, where he won the silver medal in the hammer throw and bronze in the weight throw. He collected 17 Swedish Championships in the hammer throw (1918-1924), weight throw (1918-19, 1921-1927) and two-handed Discus (1910), and was also a four-time British AAA Champion in the hammer throw (1913-14, 1921, 1927). In the hammer throw Lind held the Swedish record for 15 years (1912-27) and also set the national weight throw record in 1919. In the hammer throw, Lind was the first Swede to pass the 50 metre barrier. In 1928 he was appointed “Stor Grabb” #41 in Athletics. Lind was a policeman in Karlstad.

Personal Bests: DT – 39.04 (1912); HT – 52.51 (1922); WT – 11.62 (1925).
