Biografie

Anne Marie Lauck was a distance runner who ran the marathon at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, finishing 10th as the top American, and then returned in 2000 to run the 5,000 metres at Sydney. She was a gold medalist in the 10,000 metres at the 1991 World University Games. Lauck ran in college at Wake Forest University, although she later finished her degree at Rutgers University in 1992.

Lauck never won a US title, but in the 10,000 metres she was second in 1993 and 1999, and third in 1991 and 1994-95. She also placed third at the marathon nationals in 1996 and 2000, but did not make the 2000 US Olympic marathon team because she lacked a qualifying standard. Lauck was fifth at the 2000 US Olympic Trials in the 5K, but in that event she made the team because she had a qualifying time. She also finished fourth in 2000 at the 10K Olympic Trials, and had a third-place finish at the 1994 New York City marathon. Lauck was a road race champion at the 1993 Lilac Bloomsday Run and the 1994 Peachtree Road Race.
