Alexis Michiels competed at the 1912 Olympics. After World War I he had a brief professional career on the roads, winning Paris-Bruxelles in 1919, along with podium finishes of second at the 1919 Dijon-Lyon, and placing third at 1918 Paris-Tours, 1918 Milan-Modène, and the 1919 Circuit du Midi. Michiels finished 13th at the 1919 Belgian Road Championships. He competed at the 1920 Tour de France, but did not finish.
