Biografie

One of the top French biathletes of the late 1960s and early 1970s, Aimé Gruet-Masson competed in most of the major international tournaments between 1968 and 1976. Besides competing in three Olympics, Gruet-Masson also contested seven World Championships. His best result was a 13th place in the 1972 Olympic relay; individually he placed 21st in the 1975 individual event at the World Championships. Following his retirement after the Innsbruck Olympics, he became coach of the French junior team through 1981, after which he coached the seniors until 1984. He also served as the chairman of the biathlon committee of the French Skiing Federation (FFS) from 1993 through 2002, and was involved in sports shooting in the Jura region.
