Adolf Kofler qualified for the 1912 Olympics when he finished fourth in the trial event held on a street track between Purkersdorf-Rekawinkel-St. Pölten-Sieghartskirchen-Purkersdorf on 2 June 1912. That competition was three laps of the course, totaling 291 km, with Kofler finishing in 11-17:44. In World War I Kofler served with the Cyclist Company of the 24th Infantry Batallion. He was killed in action in April 1915 while serving in Monte Piano, Italy.
