Wilson Carneiro had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1951 Pan American Games 400 metres Hurdles, 3rd in the 1955 Pan American Games 400 metres Hurdles. In the 1951 Pan American Games 110 metres hurdles he finished fifth. In the 1955 Pan American Games 110 metres hurdles as well as in the 1959 Pan American Games 110 metres hurdles he finished sixth.
