السيرة الذاتية

Bill Ashenfelter was the brother of Horace Ashenfelter, who won the 1952 Olympic steeplechase. They both ran for Penn State and the New York AC. Bill was AAU steeple champion in 1954 and AAU cross-country champion in 1951, and competed at the 1955 Pan American Games. In 1952 at an USA vs. British Empire meet, Bill Ashenfelter led off the 4×880 relay team (with Reggie Pearman, John Barnes, and Mal Whitfield) that set a world record of 7:29.2. In the early 1950s, he began his business career with National Gypsum Company, and in 1963, he established Ashenfelter Associates, a manufacturers representative for masonry and drywall accessory companies. During World War II, Ashenfelter served in the Army with the 33d Field Artillery Battalion in Germany.
