Vladimir Krylov was the best Soviet all-around sprinter at the end of 1980s. He made his international début at the 1985 IAAF World Cup, finishing fifth in the 400 metres. At the 1986 European Championships, Krylov was third with the Soviet 4x400 m relay team and surprisingly won the 200 metres. He added a silver medal in the sprint relay at the 1987 World Championships.

At the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Krylov reached the semifinals of the 100, but won a gold medal as a member of Soviet 4x100 m relay team. Krylov made his final major international at the 1990 Europeans, where he finished seventh in the 100. Domestically, Krylov won six Soviet titles – 100 m in 1990; 200 m in 1986 and 1988; and 400 m in 1984-86.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.13 (1988).
