السيرة الذاتية

Terry Schroeder is one of the best known of all American water polo players. He competed at the 1984, 1988, and 1992 Olympics, winning silvers in 1984 and 1988. Schroeder also won Pan American Games gold medals in 1979, 1983, and 1987, and a silver in 1991. He played collegiately at Pepperdine University, making All-American in 1977, 1978, and 1980, and leading the Waves to three fourth-place finishes in the NCAA Tournament.

Schroeder has been immortalized when his body was used for the model of the male figure placed outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum prior to the 1984 Olympics. He later studied chiropractic medicine at the Palmer West Chiropractic School and opened his own practice in southern California. Schroeder also has coached water polo, serving as Pepperdine head coach from 1986-2005, and being named National Coach of the Year in 1997. He then became the US national coach, leading the US team at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. Schroeder was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2005, the U.S. Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame in 1985.
