Tadeusz Walasek competed at three consecutive Olympic Games, starting in 1956, and three consecutive European Championships, starting in 1957. He won the middleweight silver at the 1960 Olympics and bronze in 1964, was the European middleweight champion in 1961, won the European light-middleweight silver in 1957 and middleweight silver in 1959. Walasek was Polish middleweight champion in 1958-64. In all, he won 378 bouts out of 421 between 1949-66. After finishing his sporting career, Walasek worked as a boxing coach, his most famous pupil the 1976 Olympic champion Jerzy Rybicki.
