Robert Chef d'Hôtel had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1946 European Championships 4×400 metres Relay (with Yves Cros, Jacques Lunis, and the non-Olympian Bernard Santona). In the 1946 European Championships 800 metres Chef d'Hôtel finished sixth.
