Ludwig Böck whose son Helmut took part in the Winter Olympics in 1952 and 1956 was the founder of the first skiing school at Nesselwang in 1935 and built the first ski lift after World War II. He contributed significantly to the development of the ski resort Nesselwang. His last ski jump Ludwig Böck made aged 46 years at the opening of Füssener Kobel hill. He was a hotel owner, farmer and ski teacher. At the 1928 St. Moritz Winter Olympics he placed 14th over 18 km cross country skiing. In the nordic combined he came in seventh.
