السيرة الذاتية

Kenneth “Ken” Tralnberg is of Dene ancestry, as well as Metis and German descent. He was athletic as a teenager and participated not only in curling, but also in basketball and long-distance running. Despite not having any major curling victories to his credit, he was selected by the Kevin Martin rink (team) to join them at the 2001 Olympic trials and, by virtue of their victory there, the 2002 Winter Olympics as an alternate. At the curling tournament the Canadians took home the silver medal. After the Olympics he remained an alternate on Martin’s team for several years, acting as lead at several crucial moments, but he disappeared from the scene as an active player after 2005. As of 2009 he is the coach for Mirjam Ott’s rink, a two-time Olympic women’s curling silver medalist (2002, 2006) from Switzerland. Outside of curling he is a children’s advocate for the Alberta provincial government in St. Albert.
