József Nagy began his career at OTE in 1901. Later he competed for MUE, BSC, BAK, and finally BBTE. He won national championships in 1903-04 (440 yards), 1904-05 and 1908 (880 yards). He was also a Hungarian national cross-country champion before he retired in 1912. Following his retirement, he became a member of board of the BBTE, where he had worked as a representative of the athletic department for decades.
Personal Bests: 400 – 50.6 (1908); 800 – 2:02.4y (1908); 1500 – 4:19.6 (1908).
