Janelle Parks made the 1984 US Olympic team after placing second to Rebecca Twigg at the 1983 US National Elite Road Championship, and then placed 10th in the road race at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Parks won the US Road title in 1987, also winning several other races in the years after the Olympics, including GC at the 1985 Tour de l’Aude Cycliste Féminin, and stage eight at the 1989 Tour of Norway. She was runner-up at the 1986 World Road Championships, and second in the individual time trial at the 1988 US Championships. Parks placed seventh overal in the Tour de France Feminine (Grand Boucle), in 1985, an event no longer contested for women. Janelle Parks later married, becoming Janelle Graham, and settled in Western Australia as a cycling coach.
