Christopher Mackintosh was an accomplished all-round sportsman who, after winning the Public Schools lawn tennis doubles in 1921, went up to Oxford where he represented the University at athletics, rugby football, and skiing. He also played rugby for Scotland on the wing in 1924 and was a member of the British crew that won the 4-man bobsleigh at the 1938 World Championships. Mackintosh won the long jump for Oxford vs. Cambridge in 1924-25, exceeding 23-0 (7.01) on both occasions. On leaving Oxford, he joined Sir Henry Lunn’s Alpine travel business and served as Chairman of the company from 1931-44. Four of his children Sheena (1948/52) and Vora (1952), were Olympic skiers.

Personal Best: LJ – 7.14 (23-5¼) (1925).
