السيرة الذاتية

Boyan Radev won two Olympic gold medals in Greco-Roman wrestling in 1964 and 1968. He was also World Champion in 1966, and won silver medals at the World in 1962 and 1967, all in Greco. He added a silver medal in light-heavyweight Greco-Roman at the 1968 European Championships. It was later revealed that Radev spent many years as an intelligence officer with the Bulgarian State Security secret service. He was appointed a junior intelligence office with the Interior Ministry’s Unit in Sofia in 1964, and was promoted to senior intelligence officer in 1965. He later became Deputy Head of the Department in the State Security’s Intelligence Unit, a position he held until 1991. After the fall of Communism, Radev became an art collector, amassing one of Bulgaria’s richest collection of art and archaeological artifacts.
