The Steve Parry award

The Steve Parry Award was introduced to recognize the most outstanding young reporter from each programme. The award is dedicated to the memory of Steve Parry (1943–2008), who served as Reuters’ sports editor for nearly two decades. Widely regarded as one of the leading experts on the Olympic Games and an exceptional sports journalist, Parry was also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation. He generously devoted his time to teaching aspiring reporters and sub-editors the essential tools of journalism, both basic and advanced.
