Todor Veselinović is considered one of the most renowned goal scorers in Yugoslav national team history. Veselinović was capped 37 times between 1952-61 and scored 28 goals. He was a member of the Yugoslav 1954 and 1958 World Cup teams and the 1956 Yugoslav Olympic team that won a silver medal. Veselinović was the joint top scorer with four goals at the 1956 Olympics with Neville D’Souza and Dimitar Milanov. At the club level, he began with Sloga Novi Sad in 1948 and from 1950-61 played with FK Vojvodina, except for a short spell with Partizan Belgrade in 1952-53. Veselinović was the top goal scorer at the Yugoslav championships in 1956-58 and 1961. In 1961, he moved abroad, playing with Sampdoria in Italy (1961-62), First Vienna FC in Austria (1962-64), Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium (1964-65), and Austria Klagenfurt (1965-67), before finishing his career back home with FK Proleter Zrenjanin in 1967-68.

After finishing his sporting career, Veselinović launched a successful coaching career. He coached multiple teams world-wide, beginning with the Colombian national team from 1972-74, the Yugoslav national team in 1982-84, Austria Klagenfurt in Austria, Vojvodina in Yugoslavia, Independiente Santa Fe and Millonarios FC in Colombia, Club Deportivo El Nacional in Ecuador, Olympiacos, Appollon Smyrni, Diagoras FC, AEK and Ethnikos Piraeus in Greece, Levante in Spain, Catanzaro in Italy; and Fenerbahçe, Gaziantepspor, Bakırköyspor, and Karşıyaka in Turkey.
