At 22 years of age Thomas Arnold was the youngest member of the British quartet that claimed the silver medal at the inaugural Winter Games at Chamonix. Little is known of him other than the fact that, at the time of the Games, he was a lieutenant in the British Army. He was part of the crew piloted by fellow Army officer Ralph Broome that won the silver medal at the inaugural Winter Games in 1924
