Grambling placed second in the 1964 Final Trials, but in Tokyo he failed to fulfill expectations and finished seventh in the Olympic final. He was in better form in the relay when the U.S. took the gold medals with a new world record of 39.0. In 1967, Dick Stebbins tried pro football briefly, but never survived training camp to play in an NFL game.
