Kazimierz Macioch became acquainted with wrestling during military service. He wrestled for Gwardia Warszawa most of his career, winning five Polish titles while competing for that club. In 1962, he won the Greco-Roman featherweight title, while adding four more titles in the lightweight (1963, 1965, 1967-68). Internationally, he competed in the featherweight class. His two Olympic appearances (1960 and 1964) were fairly unremarkable, but at the World Championships he twice finished near the top, coming fifth in 1962 and sixth in 1963. After his active career, he served as one of the national team coaches, and he was on the wrestling staff when Poland won its first Olympic gold medal in the sport in 1976, through Kazimierz Lipień.
