个人信息

Ingrid Haringa started her career as a speed skater. Between 1987 and 1989, she won four Dutch titles over 500 and 1000 m. Internationally, she took part in the 1988 Olympics and placed 4th at the 1989 World Sprint Championships. She switched to cycling in 1990, initially on the road (winning the 1991 Dutch Time Trial title) but later also on the track. At her first World Championships (1991), she won the sprint title and the points race. She retained her points race title until 1994, but did not win an Olympic title. When the event made it's Olympic début in 1996, she lost to Nathalie Even-Lancien by a single point, adding a silver medal, adding to two sprint bronzes. She ended her career the same year, and was named Dutch female athlete of the year for the second time (earlier in 1991). Haringa, originally a police officer, later briefly appeared as a speed skating coach in 1998/1999. Since 2008, she has worked at the Tilburg ice rink.

Personal Bests: 500 – 40.61 (1988); 1000 – 1:21.41 (1989); 1500 – 2:10.56 (1987); 3000 – 4:43.62 (1990); 5000 – 8:21.8 (1983).
