个人信息

Grant Holloway is a man on mission. He wants to ‘medal every single year’ until he retires.

The American sprint star is right on track. He's made the podium since 2019 at every major championship he has competed in.

Holloway – a wide receiver in high school- and his elder brother, Trey, were introduced to track by their father. His track journey started proper when he elected to compete for the University of Florida as a hurdler rather than pursue a footballing journey to the NFL at the University of Georgia.

As a sprinter and long jumper, Holloway ruled the collegiate, winning the National Collegiate Athletic Association 60m indoor title four-times, a dominance that included breaking a 40-year-oldr record.

In his first international Championships in Doha, the 110m hurdles ‘Wonder Boy’ claimed his maiden gold medal as a 21-year-old. He opened his Olympic year with an indoor world record of 7.29 seconds that erased Collin Jackson’s record of 7.30 that had stood since 1994.

Five months later, he sped to 12.81 in the semi-finals of the US Olympic Trials, the second-fastest time in history. His personal best is just 0.01 seconds slower than Aries Merritt’s 2012 world record.

I didn’t come to the party to stand on the wall.
