Elijah WINNINGTON

Elijah Winnington gained redemption at the 2022 World Championships, where he swam the fifth-fastest time in history to win the men's 400m freestyle title.

In doing so the Australian proved that he could perform on the biggest stage, after finishing a disappointing seventh-place finish at Tokyo 2020 despite going into the Olympic final ranked No. 1 in the world.

Using that momentum, the Queenslander took out the 2022 Commonwealth Games 400m freestyle title.
