A talented junior, Dorthe Holm was an alternate on the Danish curling team that competed in the 1992 Olympics, when the sport was still a demonstration sport. Two years later, she was on the first Danish team to win the European Championships. A secretary in daily life, Holm next picked up five more international championship medals, including World Championship and Olympic silver medals in 1998. After a hiatus of several years, she returned as the Danish skip in 2002, winning silver at the Europeans. She kept this position until her retirement after the 2006 Olympics, where she was Denmark's flagbearer during the opening ceremony. With Hvidovre CC, Holm also won the Danish title five times.
