个人信息

Andrew Maynard was a top amateur boxer in the United States, winning the US title as a light-heavyweight in 1987 and 1988, and taking a bronze medal at the 1987 Pan American Games. He then went on to win gold in light-heavy at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

After the Olympics Maynard turned professional in 1989 and fought through 2000, and was managed by Sugar Ray Leonard. He won his first 12 bouts before losing by TKO in the 7th to Bobby Czyz. Maynard won the NABF light-heavyweight title and held it from 1990-92, but it was considered a minor title. He fought for the WBC cruiserweight title in October 1992 against Anaclet Wamba, but lost on decision. Maynard’s last years as a pro were not successful, and he ended with a career professional record of 26 wins (21 by KO), 13 losses, and 1 draw. He retired after losing by TKO to Gary Wilcox in October 2000. Maynard later taught youth boxing at his own gym in Harlingen, Texas.
