个人信息

Andreas Krogh was born in Kristiania as the second youngest of 10 siblings. His father was a well-known instrument maker, running a successful optical business in the Norwegian capital. Andreas became Norwegian figure skating champion in 1912, 1914 and 1915, and earned a silver medal at the European Championship 1914. Together with Astrid Nordsveen he was National Champion in pairs in 1914. He then stopped his figure skating training for four years to run the business after his deceased father, but made a comeback in 1920, taking a silver medal at the Antwerp Olympics. In 1935, aged 40, he decided to participate in the National Championships and won his fourth national title in men’s singles. During World War II he worked as a coach and skated some exhibitions in events controlled by the Nazi occupants. In 1942 he was even declared Norwegian champion in men’s singles, aged 47. Krogh died in 1964 at age 69. His older brother Erling Krogh was a popular opera singer, doing several recordings in the years between 1916 and 1957.
