A lifelong sportsman, Alfred Neveu’s greatest moment came at the inaugural 1924 Winter Olympics where, alongside Eduard Scherrer, Alfred Schläppi, and Heinrich Schläppi, he won three of the four runs in the four/five man bobsled event and took home a gold medal. Outside of the bobsled he was also active in gymnastics and shooting, holding leadership positions in the administrations of both of those sports in his native Leysin. By career he was involved in politics, and served for over 25 years as a municipal counselor.
