Биография

Wilson "Buster" Charles was a Native American, a member of the Oneida tribe, who excelled in all-around sports and as a football player. He played football at Haskell Institute, where he starred as a fullback. He also competed on the Haskell basketball team. In the decathlon, Charles won the 1930 AAU and Kansas Relays title, and placed second in the AAU in 1931 and 1932. He later settled in Phoenix where he worked for an engineering firm. He was in the inaugural class of inductees to the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame.
