Robert Peper swam for Argentina at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, placing sixth with the 4x200 freestyle relay team. He later married Jeannette Campbell, a silver medalist for Argentina in the 100 freestyle at the 1936 Olympics, and their daughter, Susana swam at the 1964 Olympics. Peper was a stockbroker in Argentina and became Vice-President of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and Chairman of the Chamber of Stockbrokers of Buenos Aires. He had numerous directorships in Argentine and South American companies. In sports administration he was secretary of the Argentine Sports Foundation. Peper was co-opted onto the IOC in 1977 and served until 1988, at which time he was made an Honorary Member. During his tenure he served on the Commission for the International Olympic Academy from 1983-88.
