Биография

Robert Livermore attended Harvard and in April 1931, he and a group of Harvard skiers became among the first to ski from the summit over the headwall of Tuckerman’s Ravine. This group would go on to found the Hochgebirge Ski Club that would become instrumental in the development of skiing and ski racing in New England. Livermore was a founder and former chairman of the National Ski Patrol, and also helped form the 10th Mountain Infantry Division during World War II. He served in the 87th Infantry Mountain Division, which later became the famed 10th Mountain Division, where he attained the rank of captain and participated in the daring assault on German outposts atop Riva Ridge in Italy.
