Биография

Ralph Miller was destined to become a doctor, growing up the son of Dr. Ralph Miller, Sr., the chairman of pathology at Dartmouth Medical School. Ralph Jr. also attended Dartmouth, graduating in 1955, and then attending medical school there. While in medical school, he continued to compete for Dartmouth’s ski team, winning the 1957 NCAA titles in downhill, combined, and being named skimeister for the year. In 1955, in Portilla, Italy, Miller had set a world speed skiing record with 175.402 kph (108.7 mph). After graduating from medical school, Miller, Jr. became an endocrinologist, specializing in diabetes, and practising in Lexington, Kentucky. His wife, Pam Miller, was mayor of Lexington from 1993-2003.
