Биография

Peter Kohnke was a small-bore rifle sports shooter, who was coached by Armin Klingner, the father of Bernd Klingner. At the 1960 Roma Olympic Games Kohnke won gold in the small-bore rifle, prone. Eight years later in Mexico City he finished seventh in three-positions.

Kohnke burst onto the international scene in 1957 at age 16, when he won the World Youth Championship in three-positions. In 1959 he won two silvers at the European Championships. By profession, Kohnke was a civil construction engineer. He tragically died in a car accident at age 33 in 1975.
