Márton Endrédy trained at Norbert Sztrakay's fencing school, starting in 1881. In 1883, he began competing in masters sabre. In 1888, Endrédi opened his Budapest school for gymnastic, fencing, and dancing. In 1896, he was elected as a member of the Association of Hungarian Fencing masters. He participated at the 1900 Olympics in masters competition in sabre, foil and épée. In 1915 Endrédi was appointed as the chief commander of the voluntary army.
