Биография

John Clawson attended the University of Michigan from where he graduated in 1966. At 6-4 (1.93) he was a good solid swingman, but never was a great collegiate player. Although he played.on three Big Ten championship teams, the likes of Cazzie Russell and Bill Buntin made it difficult for Clawson to get much playing time. After graduation he joined the Army and played for several seasons on their teams, being a member of three AAU championship teams and also representing the United States in 1967 at the Pan American Games (gold) and at the World's Championship (fourth). After the Olympics, Clawson played one year of pro basketball with the Oakland Oaks of the ABA. He played in almost all the team's games, primarily as a playmaking guard, and helped them win the ABA Championship in 1969. He then returned to law school, and also worked at Merrill Lynch, but he eventually made his living with Clawson Construction, a building company that he founded in 1976 in Danville, California.
