Jean Taris had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1932 Olympics 400 metres Freestyle; 1st in the 1934 European Championships 400 metres Freestyle, 1st in the 1934 European Championships 1500 metres Freestyle, 2nd in the 1931 European Championships 400 metres Freestyle.
