Биография

István Prihoda, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest was a member of the Hungarian shooting team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. During World War I he was captured in Russia, but he was able to escape during the February Revolution. Prihoda was awarded the State Graphic Award for his copper engravings.

In 1927, Prihoda was in a car accident which caused a fatality, for which he was sentenced to one-year in prison. From the 1930s Prihoda worked as the head of the graphic department of the Academy of Fine Arts. His copper engravings of prominent Hungarian painters were widely known.
