Биография

Henk Kamerbeek, representing the club of his employer Philips, was the first Dutch record holder in the hammer throw. Between 1922 and 1934, he won eleven national titles in the event. He missed the 1923 title due to a foul throw (which was supposedly 5 m ahead of the leading throw) and the 1930 title due to injury. Kamerbeek also added four titles in the shot put (1927-29, 1931). Kamerbeek was active in two Olympics, but failed to make the final in both his appearances. The children of Kamerbeek, who had become president of the athletics section of his club, were also great athletes, notably his son Eef, who won 11 national decathlon titles. In 1954, Henk Kamerbeek was hit by a car when crossing the road and died of his injuries a week later.

Personal Best: HT – 46.02 (1928).
