Биография

Carrie Steinseifer’s first major international was the 1983 Pan American Games, where she won gold medals in the 4x100 free and medley relays. Steinseifer won three gold medals at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, again winning both relays, and tieing for first in the 100 freestyle with Nancy Hogshead. After the Olympics she starred at the 1984 Pan Pacific Championships, winning both relays again, adding a gold in the 200 freestyle and a silver in the 100 free.

Steinseifer then attended the University of Texas where she helped the team win NCAA team titles in 1987 and 1988. She was a member of three NCAA champion relay teams in 1987-88. She continued to compete internationally, winning a gold medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay at the 1987 Pan American Games. Although Steinseifer did not make the 1988 Olympic team, she won a final international gold medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay at the 1989 Pan Pacs.

Steinseifer’s father was a scholarship diver at Oregon State University who used to model swimsuits for Jantzen Swimwear as a youth. Carrie Steinseifer later became the sports marketing manager for Nike Swim, which bought out Jantzen Swimwear in 2002.
