Barbara Evans had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×110 yards Medlay Relay (with Alva Colquhoun, Beverly Bainbridge, and the non-Olymian Gergaynia Beckett). In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 220 yards breaststroke Evans finished fifth.
