Having won the three miles for the AAA against Cambridge University in 1911, Arthur Treble finished second to George Hutson at the British Olympic Trials at Stamford Bridge in 1912 but was eliminated in the heats of the 5K in Stockholm. Treble was the Sussex one mile champion in 1911, 1912 and 1913, and in 1914 was the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire 1,000y champion. He also took part in the National Cross-country Championship in 1914, finishing 30th. Treble continued racing, mostly in handicap events, beyond his 30th birthday before emigrating to the United States in the early 1920s where he became a New York publisher, having previously been an export clerk in the UK.

Personal Bests: Mile – 4:25.2 (1911); 5000 – 15:20.2 (1912); 4 miles – 20:15.0 (1912).
